147 - Let God’s Word Overflow

As believers in Jesus Christ, we have the Spirit of God living within us, but His Spirit needs to rule our soul [mind, will and emotions] and body. In 1 Corinthians 3:1-4, Paul sternly reminds the squabbling churches of Corinth that they must submit to the Word of God and cease their constant arguing and discord. Paul’s letter forewarns us as well that our minds are a target for the enemy, and Jesus needs to rule our minds through His Word, so we can become the actions of Jesus in this world. God has given us His power to rule over the darkness and schemes of the devil, through the blood and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. If we walk in His Word, speak His Word and make our decisions according to His Word, then our actions will follow. Are you allowing the Holy Spirit to reign in your soul and body as a Christian? Or are you walking in strife, envy and division? Do you find yourself saved today, but also find yourself not acting like you’re saved? There are many Christians who are successful in their worldly obligations, but are not succeeding in their Christian life.  Maybe you have not ever desired to succeed or found in the past that it was almost impossible to succeed, so you’ve stopped trying to find fulfillment in life.  But, if you want to fully benefit from all that God's grace has to offer, you need to decide that you’re going to be a success in life and begin to walk with confidence.  Success begins with allowing God to move in your life and change your habits and thinking.  God has given you the tools to become a “doer” in Christ, and He does not want you sitting on the spiritual sidelines.  In today’s message, based on Ephesians 5:18, Paul says in simple terms that you can overcome any tactics of the devil through faith and become a successful “doer” for the kingdom of God.   Learn how to assess your own walk with Christ and what steps you can take to maximize your success as a believer who seeks a fulfilling Christian life.

165 - The Fruit of Righteousness

What is the spiritual fruit of being made a new creation in Jesus Christ? In Isaiah, chapter 45:8, God 'rains down righteousness' so it can be planted and 'spring forth good fruit'. If you have received God's forgiveness and resurrected life in Jesus Christ, you are a new creation and have been made righteous in God's eyes. Moreover, in Genesis 1:28, God tells Adam and Eve to be 'fruitful and multiply', however, He is not telling them to simply replenish the earth with more people. God also intended for the 'first couple' to experience His spiritual fruit of righteousness that was readily available. But of course, all was lost when Adam and Eve sinned and were expelled from the Garden of Eden. So, how can you still receive the fruit of righteousness today? Jesus is the righteousness of God sent to us in human form to redeem mankind from his fallen state of unrighteousness. I hope this message will enrich your understanding of God's righteousness and how you can access this spiritual fruit as a gift when made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Cor. 5:21).

255 - I Am Blessed

In the world today, we see oncoming storms in almost every area of life: war, disease, hurricanes and famine to name just a few. But, if you have Jesus Christ in your life and you recognize Him as Lord, you are blessed in Him regardless of your circumstances. In Ephesians 1:3, Paul writes that God promises an abundance of spiritual blessings to those who will humble themselves by receiving and believing in the finished works of Jesus Christ. Are you enjoying His spiritual blessings right now? Or are you struggling with being blessed by God? This message hopes to remind you that anyone can experience the overflow of God's blessings by just surrendering to His saving grace through Jesus Christ.

227 - Three Great Things to Know

In Paul's letter to the Ephesians, chapter 1:15-23, the apostle prayed that the people of Ephesus might come into a greater knowledge of their salvation through Jesus Christ. The word "know" comes from the Greek word, "ginóskó", which means "to have a complete understanding" or "to be definite about".  To "know" is also to have a relationship with the "knower".  Do you need a stronger understanding, or "ginóskó", of God's Word in your life today?  It is hopeful that this message of instruction to deepen your relationship with Jesus will bring you into a new "ginóskó" for your own life and strengthen your walk with God.

226 - The Dynamic Christian

The word "dynamic" literally means "explosive".  God wants us to be "dynamite" Christians bringing the Word to an unbelieving world as well as be powerful in our own faith. Acts, chapters one and two, tell the miraculous story of the Pentecost and God's gift of the Holy Spirit to all who wish to be born again under the saving blood of Jesus Christ.  A dynamic Christian is one who has the power of the Holy Spirit operating in their lives.  Do you struggle with receiving or sharing the gifts of God?  We as believers in Christ are expected to be, not just receivers, but transmitters of the Word of God and to minister with compassion and enthusiasm.  If you feel you are floundering in your relationship or understanding of the Holy Spirit, may this message help get you back on track with God.

340 - How to Get Out of Prison

Paul and Silas were on their second missionary journey when they came upon many people suffering from the affliction of evil spirits. Paul and Silas cast out those spirits in the name of Jesus Christ, but instead of gratitude, the two apostles were considered a local nuisance and eventually arrested. Although beaten and imprisoned in an unfamiliar place, Paul and Silas continued praising Jesus during their circumstances.  God heard their praises and the two apostles were ultimately set free as well as many other prisoners in the surrounding cells who heard Paul and Silas’s praises to Jesus and believed. What is your prison right now? Do you need to be set free? Jesus brings forgiveness, redemption and a new life to all who ask and believe in His name. It is my hope that this message of freedom, based on Acts chapter 16, will encourage you to search what areas in your life are still ‘incarcerated’ without God—and how Jesus can set you free!
